For all the senior weekers coming down to celebrate graduation, please be responsible and use crosswalks, and never swim before the lifeguards are on the beach!

Safety is a Must!

Also, just a reminder. Those crosswalks are there for a reason. It is technically illegal to not stop to let a pedestrian cross while standing in a cross walk, so your your head. Use a crosswalk and get across safely. Better to wait a few extra minutes then getting hit by a car.

It is crazy watching all of these people darting into traffic crossing the street and taking the risk of getting hit. There are a record number of people who have been struck by cars this season. Definitely take the extra two minutes to safely use the crosswalks!!

I have to admit, farther uptown (away from the boardwalk) it is just so tempting to run across the road instead of walking to the next crosswalk (they aren't necessarily that close to each other). But then I think back to the multiple stories we hear about each year about both kids and adults getting hit. I do my best to make it a point to use the crosswalks, and remember, that just because it is the law that cars have to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks, they can't stop for you if they don't see you.
Use your head, please.
