Where is the best place in OC to rent a boat for the afternoon? I would like to take my family out for a day.

There are a couple of options for you - both of them involve pontoon boats since they are really the only kind you can rent in OC (I don't believe anyone rents out jetboats)
First off is West OC Watersports - located on Hooper's Crabhouse's docks - check out their site at WestOCWatersports.com or call them at 410-213-2386. I've gone out fishing on their boat the Flounder Pounder, and they are a really nice family run business.
There is also Under the Bridge Watersports, which is located in front of the Angler Restaurant. Their site is OCJetskis.com, and the phone number is 410-289-3278. I've also gone jetskiing with them, and again, a really nice group.
Either way, you'll have a blast.
